King Charles Implements ‘Plan B’ for a Slimmed-Down Monarchy
King Charles III is seeking alternative members of the Royal Family to support his vision for a reduced monarchy.
Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as Senior Royals in 2020, His Majesty is exploring a backup plan.
Katie Nicholl, a royal expert for Vanity Fair, shared with The Sun: “Without Harry and Meghan here, who would have contributed significantly to the workload.
“The Duke of York has been marginalized and stripped of his royal responsibilities.
“We have Princess Anne, who is approaching 75 but continues undertaking hundreds of engagements yearly. Then there are the Edinburghs.
She continued: “We have the Waleses, but considering the princess has faced health challenges, her workload has been lighter this past year.
“As a result, there needs to be a plan B. Adjustments may be necessary.
“I believe the king’s concept of a streamlined monarchy is now being reconsidered due to the current circumstances within the royal family.”
The royal expert added: “If you look at Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, they’ve been strongly encouraged to pursue independent lives separate from the royal family, to earn their income, and to avoid being a burden on taxpayer-funded security or the public purse.”
