Quentin Tarantino Opens Up About the Next Chapter in His Career
Quentin Tarantino is known as an auteur, but he is stepping away from directing films for his next project.
In a conversation with journalist Elvis Mitchell, he mentioned, “If you’re curious about what I’m working on at the moment,” and added, “I’m crafting a play. It’s likely to be the next thing I pursue.”
The Academy Award winner also stated, “If it turns out to be a disaster, I probably won’t adapt it into a film. However, is it a huge success? It could be my final film.”
He further noted that he’s in “no rush actually to begin production” and said, “I’ve been doing this for 30 years.” “Next month, my son will turn 5, and I have a daughter who is 2½ years old. When I’m in the U.S., I focus on writing. When I’m in Israel? I’m a father, which is what ‘abba’ means,” the director of Inglourious Basterds explained.
“The thought of embarking on a project while they’re too young to grasp it doesn’t appeal to me. I prefer to wait until my son is at least 6.” “That way, he’ll understand what’s happening, he’ll be present, and it will create a lasting memory for him,” he finished.
