During a recent guest spot on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the 38-year-old actress recounted how fans occasionally approach her and display the impressive vocal riff from her upcoming musical film set to release in November. Host Jimmy Kimmel asked her about this vocal riff, saying, “Do people come up to you and perform it?”
“Yes, it happens randomly, and I don’t even ask for it,” she replied with a grin, noting that some individuals skip the introductions entirely before singing. “They sometimes just dive right into it.”
“How do you respond to that?” Kimmel queried.
“I’m still figuring out how to handle it,” Erivo said. “At times, it’s truly delightful; other times, it’s incredibly gratifying, and I find it amazing that people feel inspired to attempt it regardless.”
“If the emotion compelled you to express that without even introducing yourself, then we’ve accomplished something. I’m just going to embrace it,” she concluded.
