Atif Aslam Supports Young Talent with ‘Borderless World’ Initiative
One of Pakistan’s most renowned singers, Atif Aslam, has decided to support young artists through a new music initiative called Borderless World.
In a vlog created by content creator Ukhano, Aslam quoted his favorite actor, Denzel Washington, who famously said, “In the first phase of life, you learn, then you earn, and then you return.” Aslam believed it was time for him to assist emerging musicians, directors, videographers, and anyone with inherent talent.
“I believe it will have a significant impact,” he stated. Describing what Borderless World entails, the ‘Doori’ artist mentioned that the program would have multiple seasons, with the first featuring five to six episodes and an equal number of releases, including both new and previously made music with entirely different styles. “Any individuals with talent in music, [writing] lyrics, directing, videography, or acting are welcome to approach me and share their skills. We will choose participants and invite them to collaborate. This is the essence of the program.”
Aslam expressed his enthusiasm for new musicians to engage with this project and discover their passion, noting that this was the legacy he wished to impart to aspiring artists. “When we were creating music, there were groups like Strings, Vital Signs, and Junoon, who left behind incredible legacies, but I didn’t receive any guidance from my mentors besides the music they created. I believe this initiative will profoundly influence lives and music.”
He emphasized that the program is not about competition but seeks to unite musicians and artists. “It’s about the passion for music and the community,” Aslam remarked on the significance of music in his life, stating that he couldn’t envision living without it. However, he admitted that he hadn’t listened to music in a while and had been occupied with work for the last decade. “Now that I’m also producing music, it will be quite exciting.”
The launch of Borderless World in Lahore attracted numerous celebrities, including Faris Shafi, Bilal Lashari, Shae Gill, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Naimal Khawar, Saba Qamar, and Mawra Hocane.
