Pakistan Aims to Restore UK Flights as CAA Audit Kicks Off
A team from the British Department for Transport (DFT) started a full review of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Monday. It is expected to last until February 6.
Sources said a successful audit could allow Pakistan International Airlines and other Pakistani airlines operating in the United Kingdom to lift their restrictions.
Before this inspection, the CAA has “completed” preparations to meet international standards.
On January 10, the nation’s flag carrier began operations again across Europe after a gap of four and a half years, and flights landed safely at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.
Charge of Affairs Huzefa Khanum, who welcomed the flight, emphasized the importance of this flight to the Pakistani diaspora, strengthening relations among Pakistan, France, and the European Union through increased trade tourism, cultural, and trade exchanges.
