Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged vigorous actions to address the issues plaguing Pakistan’s education sector, stressing the need to view education as a national obligation.
While leading a federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad, he instructed the Education Minister to collaborate closely with provincial authorities to enhance educational results.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the vast majority of Pakistan’s 22.8 million children who are not attending school are girls, and he appreciated the discussions surrounding girls’ education during the recent International Conference on Girls’ Education in Islamabad. He also mentioned the ongoing initiatives to tackle the education crisis, declared earlier this year to enroll 26 million out-of-school children.

Besides his focus on education, PM Shehbaz celebrated the resumption of PIA flights to Europe and establishing a new crossing point on the Pak-Iran border in Panjgur, which will facilitate legal trade and curb smuggling. He also expressed approval of the improving situation in Kurram and praised the security forces for their persistent efforts against terrorism in Balochistan.
