Conor Benn vs Chris Eubank Jr Set for High-Stakes Showdown in London This April
The highly anticipated grudge match between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr is officially scheduled to take place in London this April after several years of delays, organizers have announced.
The initial fight between the two British boxers was supposed to occur in October 2022 but was cancelled when Benn tested positive for a banned substance just days before the event.
However, the 28-year-old has confirmed the match via a post on social media this Wednesday.
Benn has spent two years working to clear his name. After his suspension was lifted in November, he shared a photo of himself signing a contract with promoter Eddie Hearn and Saudi official Turki Alalshikh, stating: “Your Fate has been sealed! @chriseubankjr.” Eubank Jr, aged 35, reacted by sharing the photo on his Instagram with the caption: “@conorbennofficial just signed his death sentence.”

To fight Eubank Jr, who boasts a professional record of 34 wins and three losses, Benn will reportedly have to step up from welterweight in what was previously labelled a “catchweight” fight.
Alalshikh, the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, tweeted: “Eubank Jr vs Benn confirmed for April, London, under the name ‘Fatal Fury City of the Wolves.’
I will soon announce the date and venue.” This matchup is being marketed as a “second generation” bout, recalling the fierce contests between their fathers, Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank Sr, in the early 1990s.
