£190 Million Case Set for Verdict Once Again
A long-awaited ruling in the £190 million lawsuit against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and his spouse, Bushra Bibi, will be announced Friday.
Court officials have notified attorneys that the judgment will be revealed at 11:30 AM.
This case, presented in an accountability court, has faced several postponements. Following the closing arguments on December 18, 2024, the presiding judge, Justice Nasir Javed Rana, decided to reserve the ruling.
Initially set for December 23, the verdict was delayed to January 6, subsequently to January 13, and ultimately to January 17.
The £190 million case, also called the Al-Qadir Trust case, revolves around corruption allegations against Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi. Prosecutors contend that during Imran Khan’s premiership, they acquired billions of rupees and large parcels of land from Bahria Town Limited.
This was purportedly in return for legalizing 50 billion rupees that the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) had transferred to the Pakistani government. The case includes claims of illicit enrichment and misuse of authority.
