Trump President Donald Trump, who was sworn into office to be the 47th US President on Monday, has issued several executive orders which included one that brought back the rights of transgender people and increased the number of immigration laws. Trump also issued an order removing birthright citizenship. He said that children who was born within the US is not eligible for citizenship unless at minimum one parent is or was an American citizen or a green card holders.

Bishop Budde delivered a message to Trump in his first term, too. In the year 2020, she publicly disapproved of Trump’s use of his use of the Bible as a prop for political purposes within St. John’s Church after officers used tear gas on protesters for justice at Lafayette Square. In an opinion piece in The New York Times she denounced the actions of the officer, saying that the pastor abused sacred images in promoting opinions that were contrary to the Bible’s tenets.
