Fighting
It was reported that the Ukrainian Air Force said Russia has launched four drones and four missiles toward Ukraine in the night. According to the Air Force also said that 72 drones were destroyed and 59 vanished without hitting their targets.
The Moscow Ministry of Defence said its troops captured and destroyed 55 Ukrainian drones in six Russian regions in the night. Six drones were destroyed in Voronezh which, according to the Governor of the region Aleksandr Gusev, falling debris caused a fire just six days after the remains of another drone that was intercepted sparked the fire that was earlier reported. There were no injuries identified.
Kyiv’s military claimed to be responsible for the attack on an aviation manufacturing facility located in the Russian Smolensk region, where “combat aircraft[s] are being modernised and manufactured”, and also the attack against Voronezh which led to an explosion at a fuel depot. The Ukraine’s General Staff said the attacks were coordinated by military drones as well as special forces.
Russian state-run news agency TASS reported that Moscow’s troops had captured Ukraine’s eastern Vovkove village, located 10km (6.2 miles) southwest of Pokrovsk city, which is a crucial source of supplies for Kyiv’s army. Moscow’s forces also seized Shevchenko earlier, a different village located near the center, TASS reported.
Russia’s Orenburg regional authorities have advised residents to seek refuge from a potential Ukrainian drone assault. Russian military sites for strategic strikes are throughout the area.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) confirmed that it had arrested the Ukrainian army’s chief psychiatrist due to allegations of corruption. He is suspected of not being able to divulge more than $1m worth of “unjustified assets”, which authorities believe was accumulated in the years since the time that the Russian massive incursion into Ukraine began.

United States President Donald Trump announced that he would have a meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin and told reporters that Putin was “destroying Russia” by refusing to sign a ceasefire agreement with Ukraine. Trump stated that he was convinced “Russia’s going to be in big trouble” and expressed concern about Moscow’s economy.
Trump has warned Putin that he was likely to apply new sanctions to Russia in the event that the Kremlin would not negotiate an agreement to ceasefire with Ukraine. Trump added that the US were considering the possibility of supplying weapons to Ukraine however he also said to the European Union should do more to assist Kyiv.
Chinese Presidency Xi Jinping held a video conference with Putin in which the two discussed the possibility of possible peace talks to end the war between Moscow and Ukraine, Kremlin foreign policy advisor Yuri Ushakov said. Both leaders also spoke about issues that concern Taiwan, the Korean Peninsula, the Middle East, Syria and Taiwan, Ushakov said.
Turkish media outlet Anadolu Ajansi quoted Ushakov as declaring his administration Trump administration was not yet reached out to Moscow about a possible meeting. “We are ready,” the Russian reportedly told reporters.
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy speaking during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, told delegates that Europe should establish itself as a powerful global leader, create a common defence policy and be prepared to increase defense spending to ensure safety and security to its citizens as well as for other nations.
In his remarks, Zelenskyy also raised questions about the president’s dedication in NATO in addition to European security, and said that Ukraine was preparing to schedule an interview with Trump. US president.
Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine will not submit to Russian demands of reducing Kyiv’s military capabilities in any future peace accord. “This is the way he would like to see. We’re not allowing this to occur,” Zelenskyy said in Davos.

TASS said Putin called in conversation with Egyptian president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. They were said to have discussed joint projects with both countries, as well as the conditions in Middle East and Ukraine.
