Pakistan Unveils Domestic Cricket Schedule for 2025
IN LAHORE – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released the 2025 men’s domestic cricket events schedule on Thursday. Pakistan has a hectic domestic cricket schedule, with three first-class tournaments and the current President’s Trophy Grade-I.
The white-ball and red-ball tournaments will also receive considerable attention. These will include one 50-over List-A event, three T20 tournaments, and one non-first-class three-day game.
The U15 and U17 tournaments, the Champions U19 One-Day Cup, and the three-day Trophy have also brought about some interesting changes in cricket’s development. These three events will clearly provide a pathway for talented and aspiring cricketers.
In 2025, 21 domestic, age-group, and pathways events are planned. This includes at least 119 T20 games, 37 50-over List-A games, and 131 first-class games.
More than 10,000 games will also be played across the country in tournaments for clubs, age groups, schools, colleges, and universities. These events will give new cricket players even more chances to play.
The 18-team National T20 Cup will be held in March and will give players from 16 areas across Pakistan a chance to show what they can do in the shortest form of cricket.
In April and May, the non-first-class three-day departmental tournament called the President’s Trophy Grade-II will occur. This will be a battlefield for the departments that want to make it to the 50-over List-A and first-class departmental tournaments.
The exciting Pakistan Super League 10 will be the talk of the town in April and May. After that, there will be no top men’s domestic events for three months. During this time, the PCB will host training, fitness, and conditioning camps across all 16 regions to prepare the players for the upcoming domestic tournaments and for the second half of the year, which will be exciting, competitive, and challenging as always.
The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and the Champions Cup, the two most important first-class cups, will be held in September and October. These games will give the players chances to play in red-ball matches, which will help their chances of making the Pakistan Test team.
The President’s Cup Grade-I, a 50-over List-A event, will take place in November and December. It will be followed by the second Champions T20 Cup, followed by the Champions Cup One-Day event in January 2026.
Regarding age groups and pathways, the PCB has looked again at the U13 and U16 categories and relaunched them as U15 and U17 so that more teenagers can play in the national events. The move is also meant to help young people develop their skills and give them plenty of time in their age groups to grow and shine.
In September, the National U19 Cup will be played by 18 regional teams. The best players from the Inter-District U19 event will go to regional academies and then play in this tournament.
The best U19 men’s cricket players will be brought together in October and November for the first-ever Champions U19 Cup and Trophy, which five coaches will coach. These players have worked their way up from the Club, District, and Regional levels. The District U19 and senior tournaments and the Inter-Schools, Collegiate, and University tournaments will happen as planned in 2025. These events will help Pakistan cricket find more talented players.
