Pakistan Navy to Lead Regional Maritime Security Dialogue at 9th AMAN Exercise
The Pakistan Navy is set to host AMAN-25, the ninth edition of the multilateral Aman (peace) training exercise, which will run from 7 to 11 February.
The most significant aspect of the event this year is the AMAN Dialogue, where chiefs of naval forces, chiefs of coast guards, and high-ranking leaders from all over the world will gather to discuss maritime security issues in the region and devise plans to combat the emergence of threats to maritime security, a statement released by the Pakistan Navy’s director of public relations stated.
More than 60 nations will be involved in AMAN-25. They will contribute with aircraft, ships, Special Operations Forces (SOF), Explosives Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams, Marines, observers, and vessels.
Delegations worldwide will also participate in the first International AMAN Dialogue, which will take place in conjunction with the exercise.
The AMAN series is integral to the Pakistan Navy’s efforts in promoting regional peace and collaboration.
In 2007, the first exercise was attended by 28 nations. In 2023, the total number of participants, including significant naval powerhouses, had risen to 50.

The slogan for AMAN’s AMAN series—”Together for Peace “—reflects its primary mission, and this year’s theme, “Secure Seas; Prosperous Future,” emphasizes how important maritime security is to the global economy.
AMAN exercise is comprised of sea and harbour phases.
During the harbour phase, events like discussions on operational issues, seminars, anti-terrorism demonstrations, and the pre-sail preparation of future sea evolutions will occur.
The sea phase will include exercises and tactical manoeuvres related to maritime security, such as counter-terrorism and anti-piracy Search and Rescue shootings, gunnery firings, and air defence exercises.
The main event of that sea time will be the International Fleet Review, which will be watched by high-ranking national and foreign officials.
