Netflix has just revealed the premiere date for its cricket documentary, The Greatest Rivalry: India vs Pakistan, and fans are eagerly looking forward to it.
The sports documentary is set to be released on February 7 on the streaming service. The promotional poster for the documentary displays Indian legends Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag with their backs turned, walking towards the pitch where the Pakistan team is celebrating.
Although the names of the Pakistani players are not shown, numbers can be seen — 96, 13, and several numbers in the 50s. Last February, Netflix shared a brief teaser for the documentary, highlighting intense rivalry but providing little additional information. The Netflix website now showcases a short promo for the documentary, featuring interviews with Waqar Younis, Sehwag, and Sourav Ganguly discussing spin bowling. The comments section of the Instagram announcement was lively, with fans supporting their respective teams and expressing their hopes for the documentary’s content. Despite common concerns, it appears this will simply be a documentary focused on the sport and the two teams rather than a dramatized version of events as seen in patriotic Indian cinema.
