Karachi Braces for Slight Temperature Increase in Coming Days
Karachi is likely to experience more pleasant days in the future as temperatures are expected to increase slightly starting Tuesday or Monday. Weather experts announced on Sunday that temperatures are expected to reach 26degC-28degC throughout the day before dropping to at least 11degC or 13degC.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted the weather will likely remain dry and cold over the next 24 hours.
According to the PMD, the minimum temperature in the metropolis is likely to stay between 9 degrees C and 11 degrees C this morning.
According to the national weather agency, 41% humidity is found in the air as the winds continue to move out of the north at a pace of 11 km/h.
On Jan. 21, PMD issued a drought alert for a portion of the nation, warning of a worsening drought due to below-normal rain and higher temperatures.
According to the PMD, rainfall from Sept. 1, 2024, until Jan. 15, 2025, was 40% lower than average across Pakistan. Sindh, Balochistan, and Punjab were the worst-affected provinces.
52%, 45%, and 42% of the deficits were related to rain. The drought especially affects regions that receive rain.
In Punjab, moderate dry conditions are noted in Attock, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Rajanpur, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
The PMD stated that Islamabad, the capital city of the federal government, is also experiencing a mild drought.
Sindh is suffering from similar conditions. Similar conditions are experienced in Ghotki, Jacobabad, Larkana, Sukkur, Karachi, Hyderabad and Tharparkar.
The affected areas in Balochistan are Ormara, Kharan, Turbat, Panjgur, Lasbela, Dalbandin, and other adjacent areas.
