Foreign Office Rejects Accusations of IS Support in Pakistan
Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan has denied allegations that Pakistan provided shelter to ISIS in a weekly news briefing.
He also said that Pakistan’s position regarding his “One China” policy remains constant and precise, adding that Pakistan is keen to join the BRICS group.
Khan reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace in Syria and said that Pakistan’s position is open and transparent and that Pakistan is monitoring the situation.
Concerning Pakistan’s presence during President Trump’s inauguration, Khan clarified that Pakistan’s ambassador to the U.S. had represented the country as was the norm at the previous opening ceremonies.

About issues related to the Kashmir question, Khan welcomed any efforts towards a resolution but expressed concerns about the desperate human rights situation in India-occupied Kashmir. Khan also said that the Pakistani Embassy is actively involved in facilitating the return of prisoners to India and is constantly working towards solving the issue.
In response to a query regarding the possible deportation of Businessman Malik Riaz from Dubai, Khan assured us that he would provide more information after obtaining more details.
