Prince William’s recent enthusiastic post about his wife, Princess Kate, sparked this discussion. According to Ms. Daniela Elser, this approach seems to have drawn inspiration from the Sussexes, particularly Meghan Markle. She shared her insights in an article for News.com.au.

Elser began her article by stating, “For the average person, a husband professing his love for his wife on social media would seem completely normal – but when has anything related to the royal family ever approached the ordinary?” She continued, “In the royal sphere, William’s post is reminiscent of Old Faithful in its enthusiasm.” However, she pointed out, “There is only one individual to thank for the Waleses’ new approach to emotional expression – none other than the sponge-cake-maker-in-chief, Meghan.”

She said, “It was the duchess, with her natural understanding of social media, who truly drove the significant change in Kensington Palace’s communication style, moving away from stiff postures to something more genuine.” She noted, “It didn’t take long for the rest of the royal family to realize the effectiveness and success of this type of content, and now both the accounts of the prince and princess, as well as King Charles’ Buckingham Palace X and Instagram pages, reflect the duchess’s influence.” Yet, she quipped, “Somehow, I don’t think they’ve gotten around to sending her a thank you card.”
